About ASHA Shiksha
ASHA Shiksha is a free training app and website for ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers and other primary health care workers in India. It has 40 short lessons in 9 modules: mother and newborn care, child health, communicable diseases, vector-borne diseases, non-communicable diseases, adolescent health, the ASHA's role and records, eye, ear and oral care, palliative care, and healthy living.
Each lesson can be read on this website. The app adds read-aloud narration, cartoon videos, picture activities, quizzes and self-learning certificates. It works offline after the first visit.
Who made it
ASHA Shiksha was prepared by Dr. Krupal Gajera, a resident doctor in Community Medicine in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to help ASHAs learn on their own phones and in their own language.
Where the content comes from
Training content is a draft based on NHM ASHA modules and national programme guidelines. Always follow your ANM, MO and state guidelines. Suggestions and corrections from ASHAs, ANMs and doctors are welcome.
Independent project
ASHA Shiksha is a free, independent educational project by Dr. Krupal Gajera. It is not an official app of the Government of India, the National Health Mission or any state government. The website may show a small number of Google ads to cover its running costs. Ads are never placed inside lessons in the app, videos, picture activities, quizzes or certificates.
