Home visits and counselling
homeWhich homes first
Visit these homes first: pregnant women, newborns and mothers after delivery, children under 2 years, sick people, TB patients, and bedridden or elderly people. Plan your visits every week.
Carry your register, MCP cards and drug kit on every visit.
campaignGood counselling
Greet with respect. Ask questions and listen fully. Use simple words and pictures. Give one or two main messages at a time. Ask them to repeat the message back to check understanding. Agree on the next step.
Listen more than you speak.
family_restroomInclude the family
Many decisions are made by the husband or mother-in-law. Include them when talking about delivery, family planning or nutrition. Respect privacy — some topics should be discussed only with the woman.
Never share a person's health problem with others in the village.
infoFor training ASHA workers. Always follow your ANM, Medical Officer and the latest Government guidelines. In an emergency, call 108.
